So I went and just looked at the ASRock bios section and found something strange. For the ASRock Z77 Extreme4 motherboard, there have only been bios versions 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.8, and 2.0. You mentioned version 1.6. Are you thinking of another motherboard, or would they not list it on their page?

Don't know why they pulled it, I've got all the version saved in a folder, might try 1.4 if any problems w/ 2.0, 1.4 fixed most of the things I was working with them on i.e. 16/32GB sets of 2133 and up as far as the tRFC and secondary timings

Just tried the XMP profile for version BIOS version 1.4 and neither profiles would boot. Do you think version 1.6 would make a difference? Of course I would have to either search for it online or ask you to upload it.

Check your email, it's attached (8 MB)..put it on a flash drive and can flash direct through BIOS

Received and tested (thanks for going out of your own to help me with all of this!). No luck. I guess I'll contact Newegg tomorrow and see if they are willing to let me RMA the board to them. At this point, I'm actually worried about sticking with ASRock because of these difficulties with the memory I have been having.

What's sad is that we actually were able to get 2133 to work but that issue with it not booting if the system was completely powered down, even after I kept increasing the voltage.

But, in the meantime, any other suggestions?

Do you have or can you borrow a different PSU?

Yeah, I just recently upgraded my girlfriends computer and had to get her a 650 watt PSU. Guess I could pop that sucker in and give it a shot.

I forgot to ask. Am I trying out the 650 watt to test the XMP profile issue, or the manually set speeds issue? Or both? I would think that if the XMP profiles don't work even with the other power supply, then it's the motherboard.

To check the issue after completely powered down, we hit 2133 earlier, but after the complete power down it wouldn't restart right? Thinking PSU may be fluctuating, especially on a cold boot

Yeah after a complete power down I had to simply go into BIOS and then exit and then it would boot up. I figured that having to manually configure the memory to get it to run at it's stock speeds (2133) indicated that the motherboard is not working as intended (seeing as how you were able to simply run your XMP profile to reach 2133).

Could well be, just trying to cover all the possibilities......I hate to have to RMA and then find it was something else

Gotcha. I'm going to go and connect the 650 watt in right now and see if the XMP profiles and the 2133 manual clocking work correctly.

Just finished connecting the 650 watt and testing it out. Not only did the XMP profiles not work, the manual settings that you previously gave me which worked did not work either. Posting this and putting my 950 watt back in.
