Correct, sorry for the simplified statement I posted, because it can get rather technical, but to try and simplify a bit more it actually is telling the MCs in the CPU whether to operate independently as two Memory controller, hence the 2X64 or to operate as a team, becoming in effect a single MC that operates at 128 bit, performance wise, especially in gaming, it is sort of the same effect as dual channel, hopefully this is clearer, otherwise it gets more technical.
