I purchased 2 sets (4 DIMMs) to use in my GA-990FXA-U5 mobo. Upon first startup they were seen as 1333 speed memory. I went into BIOS and bumped the memory clock up to 8.00 and the speed was correct on next startup. My concern is the timings were auto set at 11-11-11-29. I know each pair is rated at 10-10-10 so is the system compensating since 2 pairs are in use? Is it worth my time to optimize manually? I'm not an OCer or gamer.

That sounds about right for an AMD mobo at defaults (1333) (might see the sticky that talks about default boot settings for info)

With AMD, will want to manually input the timings, DRAM voltage and CR (2N)
