  • Help tuning - F3-10666CL9D-8GBSR

    My setup it atm:

Motherboard: ASRock H61M-VS (With BIOS up to date - V 1.30)
    CPU: Intel i5 2500
    RAM: F3-10666CL9D-8GBSR (just the 2x4GB)

Now the "funny part", the MB settings on "auto":

    RAM settings:
    DDR3-1066
    7-7-7-20-1N
    (8-86-4-4-4-16)
    Voltages:
    CPU Core Voltage Offset: +0v
    IGPU Voltage Offset: +0v
    PCH: 1.059V
    CPU PLL: 1.833V
    VTT:1.057V
    DRAM: 1.600V
    VCCSA: 0.925V

With this settings i get some mem errors on load in some applications but if i put the "box settings" of the ram:
    DDR3-1333
    9-9-9-24-2N
    DRAM: 1.500V

    Its completely not stable....

    any help please?

And yes, i have run memtest86+ with both and separated and in reversed positions and no errors on 5 runs.

    Thx in advance.

Did you memtest with box settings?

Very odd, the memory should be plug and play.

You may also want to shoot an email to ASUS to see if they have an idea.

    Thank you

      ASrock tech support reply

Sended a mail to ASrock explaining the problem, this was there reply:

      Dear customer,

The correct settings are stored in the so called SPD chip on the memory module.
You can view this info with a free tool like CPU-Z, and change the settings manually in the BIOS.
To do this you have to view the info in CPU-Z, and see what the present settings are, and write them down, then you need to know the correct settings and change them in the BIOS.
Also it could be that you?re memory is defective.
Most customers report that Kingston Value RAM or Kingston HyperX RAM work fine on our boards.

      ------

Over the weekend I runed memtest again with box setting , 5 runs no errors, 2 dimms and 1 dimm at a time....

      Any suggestion?

On CPU-Z i have on the SPD:

      457 mhz 6.0-6-6-17-23 1.5 V
      533 mhz 7.0-7-7-20-27 1.5 V
      609 mhz 8.0-8-8-22-30 1.5 V
      685 mhz 9.0-9-9-25-34 1.5 V

should i try with this settings? and run memtest? what would be the better one for my setup?

      Thx in advance

For the Snipers it should be 9-9-9-24 2T 1.5..is the 2500 OCed? might try the DRAM at 1.55 and the VTT at 1.1, I've run into a numer of ASRock mobos that seem to set voltages lower than what they show

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Upload some pictures of BIOS, that's the last resort to see if anything is being detected incorrectly.
