G'day,
I have just finished building my new compute looks like this
Asus P8P67 Deluxe V3 L1155 P67
Intel Core i7 2600K Processor LGA1155 3.4GHz CPU
OCZ Agility 3 - 120GB - 2.5' SATA3 SSD
msi gtx480 N480GTX-M2D
Antec HCG-900 900W High Current Gamer Power Supply
G.Skill Ripjaws-X 8GB(2x 4GB) Memory Kit - 240pin DIMM
- PC3-12800 / DDR3-1600 - CL9 - 1.5v - Unbuffered - Non-Ecc (F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL)
I bought another
G.Skill Ripjaws-X 8GB(2x 4GB) Memory Kit - 240pin DIMM
- PC3-12800 / DDR3-1600 - CL9 - 1.5v - Unbuffered - Non-Ecc (F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL)
inserted it and rebooted and all started fine, bios all seemed fine 1600 ram 16g
Turn computer off for the nite, restart next day and here the problem begins
Compute lights up goes to start, shuts down, restarts and led next ram stays on
and error code 45 comes up, run memok it says it has boot and to save the
bios, go into bios and it has reset ram to 1333, save it compute boots runs ok
but is slightly unstable. Go back into bios reset ram to 1600 and reboot, compute
starts, runs for a little bit then gives me the blue screen of death with a nasty
error message. Pull out the new ram, reboot, bios auto's the ram to 1600 and boots.
Try the 2 new sticks on there own, 45 error, try each stick on there own and 1 stick
works, 1 goes 45 error and memok won't boot it.
Have put a warranty ticket in with my etailer who have asked me to return the ram
but to also come in here and ask tech if they know if it is a tech prob or a faulty stick
problem, I quote from my etailer
'It?s highly recommended that you can contact the manufacturer's technical support for any troubleshooting or technical support before you return the product back for warranty claim. Most of these supports are free and will provide you a manufacturer technical support case number which may be required and speed up the warranty procedure. You can find the details on the manufacturer?s websites'
It says a 'manufacturer technical support case number' will speed up my claim.
Would appreciate 1 of those if it is possible and any response from this thread
I will pass on to my etailer
oh I am in australia too
Thanks in advance
