Thanks, Does it matter more to the compatibility between modules that the memory manufacture or the chips used are differant ?

I would lean towards the chips/ICs used rather than manufacturer. Though if I have to mix models I try and look for the same basic specs, i.e. base timings, voltage, buffered or not, ECC or non, etc....If all match up, then you have a better chance of getting different sticks to play together by adjusting voltages connected to the DRAM i.e. DRAM voltage itself and NB or CPU/NB, or QPI/DRAM or QPI/VTT based on the platform being used

Well i could not help my self, even though i have 12gb, all four slots occupied and having no problems ran mem-test with no errors, the egg dropped the price of their F3-10600cl9d-8gbnt kits down to $50, so ordered another set. This will give me two sets of F3-10600cl9d-8gbnt, and have read lots of posts of people having , non booting and bsod problems when the try to install two sets of g.skill ram. I do not have any way to adjust settings in my bios so i am at the mercy of g.skill getting the chips to work together.
