Solution as posted by Gskill admin "Clear the CMOS via the CLRTC button, then try XMP again".
Hear is how to clear the BIOS via the CMOS 3 Pin jumper
Look at your motherboard manual for help identifying the CLRTC 3 Pin jumper.
If you don?t have manual then look on your motherboard for a 3 pin where it says CLRTC, JMOS next to it.
I. Find the jumper, look carefully for the position is in on the 3 Pins on the motherboard. You should see a series of 3 Pin with 2 of them being covered by the jumper.
II. Take the jumper and remove it from the two pins it is currently covering. Move the jumper over so that it covers the previously exposed pin of the 3. The jumper should now be covering the middle pin and the previously uncovered pin.
III. Leave the jumper in place for about 1 minute. Make sure there is no AC power cable connected to your system as any small voltage can allow the system to retain the BIOS settings.
IV. Once a minute has passed remove the jumper from the pins you just placed it on, and move it back to its original position on the motherboard.
Once this is done start up your computer and do not recover BIOS instead go in to BIOS set up and and just trun on XMP profile and you are good to go. THANK you GSKILL!!!!!
Problem
Hello, I am currently running F3-17000CL9D-8GBXLD with ASUS P8P67 PRO Socket 1155 LGA + Sandy Bridge i7 2600K. I am having some trouble with the RAM and I hope someone can give me a helping hand. I am new to all this so please excuse me beforehand. The RAM is running at 1600MHz by default and when it running at that speed the computer will start up with no problem but after logging in to windows few minutes of use the whole computer will freeze completely and I would have to restart which would lead to same thing again. Also when it is running at 1600MHz when i press power all fans will turn on and lights hard drive ect. and it will go off for 2 sec and turn on fully. I had gone in to the BIOS and changed it to X.M.P profile, and it would set target speed at 2133MHz but the computer would not start up at all . Please help me as I am unable to use my computer. I have attached pictures of my BIOS setting as best as I can in a hurry, let me know if additional information is needed.
Thank you in advance !!!
