  • F3-17000CL9D-8GBXLD ---Not running properly --

Solution as posted by Gskill admin "Clear the CMOS via the CLRTC button, then try XMP again".
Hear is how to clear the BIOS via the CMOS 3 Pin jumper
Look at your motherboard manual for help identifying the CLRTC 3 Pin jumper.
If you don?t have manual then look on your motherboard for a 3 pin where it says CLRTC, JMOS next to it.

    I. Find the jumper, look carefully for the position is in on the 3 Pins on the motherboard. You should see a series of 3 Pin with 2 of them being covered by the jumper.

II. Take the jumper and remove it from the two pins it is currently covering. Move the jumper over so that it covers the previously exposed pin of the 3. The jumper should now be covering the middle pin and the previously uncovered pin.

III. Leave the jumper in place for about 1 minute. Make sure there is no AC power cable connected to your system as any small voltage can allow the system to retain the BIOS settings.

IV. Once a minute has passed remove the jumper from the pins you just placed it on, and move it back to its original position on the motherboard.
Once this is done start up your computer and do not recover BIOS instead go in to BIOS set up and and just trun on XMP profile and you are good to go. THANK you GSKILL!!!!!

    Problem

Hello, I am currently running F3-17000CL9D-8GBXLD with ASUS P8P67 PRO Socket 1155 LGA + Sandy Bridge i7 2600K. I am having some trouble with the RAM and I hope someone can give me a helping hand. I am new to all this so please excuse me beforehand. The RAM is running at 1600MHz by default and when it running at that speed the computer will start up with no problem but after logging in to windows few minutes of use the whole computer will freeze completely and I would have to restart which would lead to same thing again. Also when it is running at 1600MHz when i press power all fans will turn on and lights hard drive ect. and it will go off for 2 sec and turn on fully. I had gone in to the BIOS and changed it to X.M.P profile, and it would set target speed at 2133MHz but the computer would not start up at all . Please help me as I am unable to use my computer. I have attached pictures of my BIOS setting as best as I can in a hurry, let me know if additional information is needed.

    Thank you in advance !!!

[QUOTE=GSKILL TECH;37908]Test one module at a time with XMP first to make sure none are defective.

      ================================================== =========

I have tried one module at a time with XMP and still the same problem. The slots on the ASUS motherboard is DIMM A1 DIMM A2 DIMMB1 DIMMB2 and the recommended memory configuration is for one stick RAM use DIMM A2 and for 2 sticks use DIMM A2 and DIMM B2. I have tried in every slot one by one with only XMP profile and same result. In DIMM A2 and DIMM B2 target at 2133MHz is unable to start but my trick is press power and hold power to give it an error and once off press power again will get it to run which will take me to error window as shown in picture #1 which states unable to overclock ect. After word I would have to press F1 to enter BIOS and just exit with/without saving and window will start. Now as I mentioned earlier using CPUZ program I have checked speed with socket use on DIMM A2 and DIMM B2 the result is shown in picture 2 which shows it is unable to reach target speed at 2133MHz and instead running at 1600MHz and also have a look at the CAS latency, it is off target. When I switch the 2 stick of RAM to DIMM A1 and DIMM B1 (which is not recommended by ASUS mobo manual) it still won’t start but using the trick of holding power to shut off and turn on again, going through error and BIOS and then start the CPUZ result is at picture # 3 which is successful at targeting 2133MHz but still unable to turn on normally at start as stated above. What else should I do? Please help me out thanks again.

Might want to raise VCCIO voltage to 1.1

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Clear the CMOS via the CLRTC pins or button, then try XMP again.

          Thank you

Running on DIMM A2 & B2 it couldnt reach 2133mhz but once VCCIO was increased to 1.1 it ran @ 2133 but unstable. Still did not chage the boot problem.. I will post a video shortly & u will see my sitution. Thax anyways
