  • 12GB kits for Asus Rampage III Formula.

Hello, I am looking for 12GB kits ( 3x4 ) for the asus rampage iii formula motherboard. I searched the forum and only found the Tridents validated to work, but as they are a bit out of my price range, what are some others?

Here is a list of the ones i am currently considering.

    G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL7T-12GBRH
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-405-_-Product

    or

    G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8T-12GBRM
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-406-_-Product

    or

    G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) Desktop Memory Model F3-16000CL9T-12GBRM
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-408-_-Product

Also if all of the above modules are compatiable can u recommend me the best one.
The computer is going to be used for loading multiple instances of MMORPGS ( e.g. 10 World of Warcrafts, or Dark Age of Camelots ).

    Thanks,
    Daniel

The F3-12800CL8T-12GBRM is the best, but also the most expensive. What some people do is get the F3-12800CL9T-12GBRL and attempt 8-8-8-24 with 1.65V, but the specs aren't guaranteed.

I would go with the F3-16000CL9T-12GBRM. Save $10, and it is basically guaranteed for DDR3-2000 and DDR3-1600. You can test to see which setting is better. Also, since it is 1.55V, you should be able to bump the voltage a tad to achieve lower timings.

    Thank you

Yes ... dredging up an older thread ...

I also have an ASUS Rampage III Formula motherboard and I'm looking to get 12Gig of RAM installed and running.
I have looked at your recommendations on your above post. "GSKILL TECH"
Has anything changed with your recommendations for GSkill RAM and this motherboard ?

NewEgg has these both sets of RAM listed for the same price right now.

Would the F3-16000CL9T-12GBRM be the better choice now? as the price is the same?
I'm not looking to overclock per say, but would like the choice between flat out fastest RAM
v.s. most compatible and flexible RAM at low timings.

      Thank you in advance ...

      The F3-16000CL9T-12GBRM
      DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000)
      have RAM timings of 9-10-9-28

      The F3-12800CL8T-12GBRM
      DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
      have RAM timings of 8-8-8-24

Of the two, at the same price, definitely the 2000 sticks, they are faster and if any problem in getting them to run at 2000 (which there shouldn't be) you can run them at 1600 or faster, at the CL8 of the actual 1600 sticks

              G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000)
              Desktop Memory Model F3-16000CL9T-12GBRM

Installed all three sticks started up the machine no issues with auto settings.
All 12GB of RAM recognized by my ASUS Rampage Formula |||

I set it to XMP overclock DDR3 2000 and the board adjusted everything including
DRAM multiplier, DRAM timings, bclck, voltages, uncore freq, QPI freq.
This actually overclocked the CPU slightly as well.
              Machine runs flawless at 2000

I really don't need it to run every day with CPU over clocked,
so I reduced RAM speed back to 16000
