  • Ripjaw F3-12800CL7D will not run @1600Mhz

Ive got a set of the Ripjaw F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM
Gigabyte MA790GPT-UD3H motherboard running latest BIOS f4b
    AMD Phenom II X3 720 2.8GHz processor.

Auto-detect settings on the motherboard set the RAM at DDR3-1333 (667Mhz)
changing the Multiplier from 6.66x to 8x to set the RAM at DDR3-1600 (800Mhz) causes the system to fail to boot.

Ive tried MANY different timings including the 8-7-7-24 2t 1.65v settings that were recommended in another thread here.
Nothing I can do will allow the computer to boot if the RAM is set at 800Mhz.
Just tried 9-7-7-24, 9-8-8-24, 9-9-9-24 and 10-9-9-24 at 1.65v. All failed to boot.

    No word from Gigabyte yet.
If anyone can direct me as to what I need to do to get this working at 1600Mhz is appreciated.

ok so 1 stick will boot into Windows at the 800Mhz setting before I get a BSOD.
The other will not pass the POST at 800Mhz in any slot.

Does this mean one stick is malfunctioning?

Might be, have you tried raising the CPU/MC voltage a bit.

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Memtest86+ resets the computer when 2 sticks are inserted.
When either is tested individually the test passes.
        Not sure what this means...

          From Memtest website

"Version 3.5 currently has a bug that causes the test to crash when testing 4Gb or more of memory."

"Please use the 3.4 release for testing 4GB or more of memory."

Memory is testing fine with 3.4

Now Im going to run Orthos stress test and see if I can get any info here or from Gigabyte about running at 1600Mhz
