  • Confirmation that I'm set running correctly

    Hey there,

I'm just trying to make sure I'm running at stock speeds on my memory, not trying to overclock just yet.

I have the xmp-1600 profile on in the bios and it says i'm running at 1600MHz in the initial bios screen, but CPU-Z is telling me that my DRAM freq is at 800MHz and that the max bandwith is PC310700 (667 MHz).

Is this correct for this RAM kit? Should I change anything to get to the proper speeds?

    64GB RAM: F3-12800CL10Q2-64GBZL
    ASUS P9X79 PRO - BIOS v3305
    Intel i7 3930K

    thanks!

You're fine and at 1600, have to remember this is DDR3 (DOUBLE Data Rate 3), so it's true freq (800) times 2 or 800 x 2 = 1600. The max bandwidth tab is nothing more that the default boot settings for an initial install as most all mobos when you first install sticks only boot to 1333 or 1600 - see my info thread on CPU-Z here:
