  • What is up with F2-8800CL5Q-8GBPI and the ER45-UD3P?

I have read a miriad of forum post. I cannot get all 4 sticks to operate at the rated speed of PC2-8800 without numerous errors on memtest, and usually cannot get into Windows (7-64). I can get any 2 sticks in any 2 slots to operate fine at 1066 with virtually no adjustments other than setting the voltage manually @ 1.8 for the dram. The settings below under the title 4GB,1066,5-5-5-15-2 work with any 2 sticks. However, I can get all 4 sticks going, again with the same voltage adjustment, and tighter timings with no hassle at all PC2-6400. These settings are under the title 8GB,800,4-4-4-12-2. I have tried upping the MCH to 1.4, upptin the tRFC to 80 or 88, etc. Help!

    I have the following:

    rev. 1.6 of the EP45-UD3P
    Hiper 880W PSU
    EVGA nvidia 8800GT 512 SC
    E8400 CPU (currently not ocd)

Believe you'll want to raise the tRFC to 84 or so, and raise the MCH Core to 1.2.....may want to raise the vCore a tad also

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

        To Tradesman,

Tried your suggestions but to no avail. RMA'd the modules and will try with the new set.

        G.Skill Tech,

Are you suggesting to try these adjustments in addition to those suggested by Tradesman, or in leiu of those?

Sorry for the tardy reply, very busy at work.

        Thanks

Set Optimized Defaults, then enter in only the settings I have listed above.

            To GSkill Tech,
Got the new modules and made the settings as you suggested (assuming that FSB voltage means ICH Core voltage).
            • Ran Memtest for 12 hours and 42 minutes
            • 8 passes
            • 161 errors

Not sure what to do next.

Try one stick at a time to see which sticks causes errors. If none error, try increasing MCH Core +0.2V and DRAM Voltage +0.2V.

So the DRAM would be at 2.0 and the MCH core would be at 1.3. Do I have that right?

That is correct, if you encounter slight instability, try 1.90V VDIMM and 1.20V MCH Core. Too much voltage can cause instability.

                  Thank you

RESOLVED - What is up with F2-8800CL5Q-8GBPI and the ER45-UD3P?

Resolved - Updated the bios to FE last night. Memtest and Prime95 have worked flawlessly so far. I left prime running all day and will be interested to see results when I get home from work. While running it this morning I accessed the internet, opened outlook, and turned on the tv tuner with windows media center and the threads did not abort or show any errors before I left.

I started out with the following changes from the git-go, and I will try to ratchet them down over the next few days.

                    CPU vcore @ 1.325
                    MCH @ 1.3
                    trfc @ 72
                    FSB @413
                    latch @ 2.66D
But the dram was left on AUTO and checked out in the health section of the bios @ 1.9v.

About time Gigabyte fixed their bios!

Seriously... could have saved millions of people's hours (not even including mine). Not to mention their support was even unwilling to help me, blaming G.Skill memory, and my technical abilities. Luckily their Taiwan office cares and knows what they are doing, since the US branch doesn't do squat besides tell customers it's a problem with memory. ha.

                      Thank you
