You needed a decent Ivy Bridge chip to get DDR3-2666+, while basically any Haswell i5 / i7 can do it. So yeah, while it can also be done with a 3570K/3770K, you had to be somewhat lucky. With Haswell it is almost plug and play.

But of course you need memory able to do stuff like that in the first place
