Hello. I am contemplating upgrading from my gtx 260 core 216 to a new card but want some advice. Should I go ahead now with a XFX HD 6870 Black Edition $259.99 free shipping with $30 rebate on newegg (rebate expires 1/15). Or should I wait for the upcoming HD 6950 1gb? I am thinking that the pricing will be similar for these two. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Sort of either/or, it's a good deal on the 6870 and think they are expecting about a 5-10 FPS difference between the two. Depending on the mobo, you could go w/ the 6870 now and then down the road a bit maybe a few months, look to move to CrossFire when the 6870 prices drop more

Get the 6950 and flash the BIOS to the 6970, its easy an upgrade! Lastly what are your specs like CPU speed, depending on your speed the CPU can be a bottleneck issue in some cases.CPU I7-980X @ 3.81Ghz

For a single card solution 3Ghz is not bad, personally I would go for the 3.2-3.4 range for smoother FPS, but your fine where you at.CPU I7-980X @ 3.81Ghz
