  • 128 GB Falcon can't be detected by BIOS

    Hi,

I've had a 128 GB Falcon for 1 year 11 months (1 month left on the warranty, phew). It had 1916 firmware on it. A few days ago windows bluescreened, and upon reboot my SSD cannot be detected by my BIOS.

I put the firmware update jumper on it, and it is detected, however I can't get 128GB-*.exe to work to upgrade to 2030 (I get an error after pressing 'y' to search for the drive). Also when I run Upgrade_AP.exe to try to 'reflash' with 1916, no drive is detected.

I've tried the above steps on multiple computers. I'm guessing I'm going to have to RMA this drive. As this is my second RMA though (first drive was defective almost 2 years ago), the RMA page says to troubleshoot with GSkill first though.

So, GSkill, can you try to help or tell me to RMA please. Thanks.

      Hi dmnd,
      2030 doesn't need use jumper.
      please follow my step.
      1. use jumper and use FW 1916 clean tool to erase bad blocks.
      2. remove jumper and upgrade to FW 2030.
      3. just try which one (128GB-1, 128GB-2, 128GB-3) can match with your SSD.
      Please follow the user guide.
