How did you install your OS?

        Did you set AHCI mode?

How much capacity did you install this storage?

I have this same problem with my Phoenix Pro 60gb. I have figured out that my HM55 chipset is the cause of some of the issue, but I still have slow 4k writes when hooked up on a separate computer as a secondary drive with an Intel 965 chipset and on a JMicron sata chipset.

I have already done secure erase with Parted Magic.

Here is an HDTune shot, my transfer rates are much lower than most others:

Is this a known issue with certain drives?

                Hi all

could you follow my step and let me know your result.

                step1: backup your data.
step2: use parted magic "secure erase"
                step3: run HD Tune
please set AHCI mode and disable C-STATE on bios.

I am looking forward to see the result.

I have already done this. I cannot disable the C-state option in the BIOS because it is not there. I was experiencing slow speeds, and did a Parted Magic secure erase and did not help at all. It is already set to AHCI.

                    What are your motherboard ?
Try updata to new Bios .
If you still can not disable...try this C-state set 1.
The smaller number the better performance.

I have a Toshiba Portege R705 laptop with an HM55 chipset.

I am using the latest bios and have disabled all power saving features in Windows and the BIOS and those are not the source of the problem

Been doing some reading on here and i didnt know ssd loose performance,so here is my first time benching my ssd, gskill phoenix pro 60bg

I assume these are bad results compared to others that have posted. Im gonna try using the parted magic but i have a question. Does the program completely wipes the drive and if so is it possible to restore using a system image and get performance back? BTW my MB is MSI nf980-g65. I read on another forum not to update my nforce chipset cause ill use TRIM support,so i never installed them when i did a clean install(windows 7). Im assuming im using the Microsoft drivers then?......

                        Any info would be appreciated.

I tested the drive with the new firmware. The results are not good.

                              Hi kwilks3,

SSD performance drop with the use of the time.
It is depend on your DATA or how you use it.
So we always recommend using backup regularly and use secure erase.

So are you saying this is normal? Because this does not happen on my Intel X25-M G2 which I have been using for even longer. Should I RMA my SSD? Will that fix this issue?
