I have this same problem with my Phoenix Pro 60gb. I have figured out that my HM55 chipset is the cause of some of the issue, but I still have slow 4k writes when hooked up on a separate computer as a secondary drive with an Intel 965 chipset and on a JMicron sata chipset.
I have already done secure erase with Parted Magic.
Here is an HDTune shot, my transfer rates are much lower than most others:
Is this a known issue with certain drives?

Try updata to new Bios .
If you still can not disable...try this C-state set 1.
The smaller number the better performance.

Been doing some reading on here and i didnt know ssd loose performance,so here is my first time benching my ssd, gskill phoenix pro 60bg
I assume these are bad results compared to others that have posted. Im gonna try using the parted magic but i have a question. Does the program completely wipes the drive and if so is it possible to restore using a system image and get performance back? BTW my MB is MSI nf980-g65. I read on another forum not to update my nforce chipset cause ill use TRIM support,so i never installed them when i did a clean install(windows 7). Im assuming im using the Microsoft drivers then?......
Any info would be appreciated.

I tested the drive with the new firmware. The results are not good.

It is depend on your DATA or how you use it.
So we always recommend using backup regularly and use secure erase.
