Hey guys.
I just upgraded by motherboard from an ancient 780 chipset AM2+ DDR2 board to a modern AM3+ board. Installed 16Gb of Trident 1866 RAM in it.
First off, thank you guys for making the heat sinks on the DIMMs removable! It's a tight fit in my case, and taking the fins off let everything fit!
Once I got everything rebuilt, with memory settings on AUTO, it came up as 16 Gb at 1333 Mhz. That's nice and safe, so cool beans.
What timings can I try driving this memory at to get a little more speed out of it?
How fast will a Phenom X6-1090T go before stability is a problem?
I'm not looking at an 3xt33m3 0v3rcl0ck here, I'm just aiming to see if I can drive it at its rated speed.
In a few months, I'll be swapping out the CPU for an FX-8370 - how does that change timings?
Thanks.
