  • XMP question

-Is it possible to manually make a XMP profile inside the bios and load it into the RAM?
-If yes, what G.Skill 2x8GB kit is easily overclockable to 2133Mhz/CL9?
-If no, will overclocked RAM start with it's overclocked settings or stock settings?

There's software you can use to over write the SPD info to what you would like - but that voids your warranty and can easily basically kill the sticks also. for 2133, best bet would be to just buy 2133....next would be go with 1866 sticks (most will hit 2133 with slight manual timings changes) or if the budget is there and say your mobo or CPU is limited to 2133, can always buy even faster sticks and downclock them - that way when you go for a new build or upgrade you already have faster sticks....don't know what mobo/cpu you have, but of the GSkill lines of DRAM I like the Snipers best for OCing, followed closely by the Ripjaws lines

      Here are some kits:

Performance RAM always start with default standard settings, you must manually input settings or enable XMP to achieve the rated specifications.

Might like the Ripjaws X 2133 2x8GB (I've got the 4x8GB set of these and they are great, and OC well, can run them at 2400/CL10 with my 3570K)
