  • Asus P8Z77 M-PRO and i7 3770 (need advise on Ram)

    Hi Everyone,

I am currently planning to buy the i7 3770 (not the "k" model) and the Asus P8Z77 M-PRO motherboard. I'm currently looking for a Ram that would fit perfectly and would make the computer run stable. I do not know how to overclock so I would be retaining the default settings of my parts.

I was able to look at a thread (http://www.gskill.us/forum/showthread.php?t=10957) with almost the same question as mine but the part suggested is not available here in our location (and online ordering option is not preferred since it is quite expensive).

Could anyone help me pick out from a list below if they are compatible? I prefer it to be 4GBx4 or 8GBx2 (and if possible 8GBx4). Here are what's available in our location:

    ram: G.Skill Ares (Dual) 2x4gb ddr3 1333 CL9 (F3 1333CL9D 8GAO)
    ram: G.Skill Ares (Dual) 2x4gb ddr3 1600 CL9 (F3 1600CL9D 8GAB)
    ram: G.Skill Ares (Dual) 2x8gb ddr3 1333 CL9 (F3 1333CL9D 16GAO)
    ram: G.Skill Ares (Dual) 2x8gb ddr3 1600 CL10 (F3 1600CL10D 16GAO)
    ram: G.Skill Ares (Quad) 4x8gb ddr3 1333 CL9 (F3 1333CL9Q 32GAO)
    ram: G.Skill RipJaws (Dual) 2x2gb ddr3 1600 CL9 (F3 12800CL9D 4GBRL)
    ram: G.Skill RipJaws 4gb ddr3 1333 CL9 (F3 10666CL9S 4GBRL)
    ram: G.Skill RipJaws X (Dual) 2x2gb ddr3 1333 CL8 (F3 10666CL8D 4GBXM)
    ram: G.Skill RipJaws X (Dual) 2x2gb ddr3 1333 CL9 (F3 10666CL9D 4GBXL)
    ram: G.Skill RipJaws X (Dual) 2x2gb ddr3 1600 CL8 (F3 12800CL8D 4GBXM)
    ram: G.Skill RipJaws X (Dual) 2x2gb ddr3 1600 CL9 (F3 12800CL9D 4GBXL)
    ram: G.Skill RipJaws X (Dual) 2x2gb ddr3 1866 CL9 (F3 14900CL9D 4GBXM)
    ram: G.Skill RipJaws X (Dual) 2x4gb ddr3 1333 CL9 (F3 10666CL9D 8GBXL)
    ram: G.Skill RipJaws X (Dual) 2x4gb ddr3 1600 CL7 (F3 12800CL7D 8GBXM)
    ram: G.Skill RipJaws X (Dual) 2x4gb ddr3 1600 CL8 (F3 12800CL8D 8GBXM)
    ram: G.Skill RipJaws X (dual) 2x4gb ddr3 1600 CL9 (F3 12800CL9D 8GBXL)
    ram: G.Skill RipJaws X (Dual) 2x4gb ddr3 2133 CL9 (F3 17000CL9D 8GBXM)
    ram: G.Skill RipJaws X 8gb ddr3 1333 CL9 (F3 10666CL9S 8GBXL)
    ram: G.Skill Sniper (Dual) 2x4gb ddr3 1600 CL9 (F3 12800CL9D 8GBSR2)
    ram: G.Skill Trident (Dual) 2x2gb ddr3 1600 CL8 (F3 12800CL8D 4GBTD)
    ram: G.Skill Trident (Dual) 2x2gb ddr3 2000 CL9 (F3 16000CL9D 4GBTDD)

And lastly, if it is compatible with a P8Z77-V or P8Z77-V PRO or DELUXE, will it be automatically compatible with P8Z77 M-PRO?

    Thank you in advance.

Any of the above will work with your proposed combo, of those shown above the 32 GB set will be fine (F3 1333CL9Q 32GAO) or at 1600 might look at F3-1600C9Q-32GXM....for 16GB, I'd suggest a 2x8GB set (less stress on the MC with two sticks and leaves two slots open for expansion, though not listed above I'd suggest F3-1600C9D-16GXM.

          Hi Tradesman,

I'm in need of your expertise again.

Had a little change of plan. The Asus P8Z77 M-PRO got sold out in the stores nearest our location (bad timing lol) and the next shipment per the store would be next month. I'm planning to change it to Asus P8Z77 V instead (same i7 3770). Would this RAM work fine?

          G.Skill RipJaws (Dual) 2x8gb ddr3 1333 CL9 (F3 10666CL9D 16GBXL).

Apparently the other options were only 2GBv2 (which I'm avoiding) because the 4GBv2 also ran out.

          Thanks in advance!

          Regards,

Yep, no problem there....same as with other mobo, update the BIOS if needed and should be fine
