  • "old 1333 ram" on new z77 chipset

    I'm just looking for an official confirmation that there is no compatibility issue for my next upgrade.

    I'll be rigging my actual F3-10666CL7Q-16GBXH on a new Z77 mobo, socket 1155 + i2500k sandy bridge, the mobo should be asrock Z77 extreme6.

    The ram are not in the official list by asrock: http://www.asrock.com/mb/memory.it.a...Z77%20Extreme6 but I know that is far from being 100% reliable, and on the net I've seen people suggesting exactly those modules on a new z77 board.

    Can you guys please give me any advice? Also, looking at benchmarks here and there I don't think I'll get such a boost in performaces upgrading to a 1866 or 2100 sticks. Yeah maybe a 4-5% but that's not really anyting I need atm.

    Thanks in advance.

    Should work fine, no problem, can always upgrade to faster sticks in the future if desired, you will see an increase in performance, playing with some sticks I recently saw a 25% increase from 1600 to 2133 - some results from this thread

    http://www.gskill.us/forum/showthread.php?t=10602

    @1600 8-9-8-28 21,168 or 20.67
    @1600 9-9-9-28 20,520 or 19.58
    @1866 9-10-9-28 25,130 or 24.54 (with CR @ 2T)
    @1866 9-10-9-28 25,401 or 24.80 (with CR @ 1T)
    @2133 10-11-10-28 26,252 or 25.63

    so 5GB from 1600 to 2133, should see a similar difference from 1333 to 1866, and with your combo should be able to go up to 2133 -2200+ if you wanted to

    Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:
