  • F3-2400C10D-8GZH + DZ77GA-70K + i7 3770K

    Hi people of Gskill,

I got this mainboard Intel DZ77GA-70K (latest bios 0039) and this cpu i7-3770K , i did want to run this memory Gskill F3-2400C10D-8GZH at XMP 2400, but if i enable the xmp function in the bios, the mainboard don't boot again (3 times and then he ask to change if you want to change the bios settings).

So i did contact Intel (chat) and he told me that you can't run XMP 2400 without overclocked the cpu, is this true?

He did say me that the max speed DDR3 1600 is without overclocking.

But now the default speed is DDR3 1333 and i want to set it on DDR3 1600 if it is not possible to run XMP 2400 without overclocking the cpu. And i see that the SPD normal is 1600, strange and only gives 1333.

So i need the timings (like cas, ras, command rate, etc.), voltage to run at DDR3 1600 for that memory to enter it in the bios manually.
Maybe you can add this to for the DDR3 1866 and 2133?

This is what i need to enter in the bios:

    tRCD:
    tRP:
    tRASmin:
    tRFC:
    tRRD:
    tWTR:
    tRTP:
    tWR:
    tRC:
    tFAW:
    Memory Voltage:
    Command Rate:
(i am not sure if you need this one: System Agent Voltage and Memory Muliplier:Speed (set to 12 for 1600)

Here are the links from my products:

Do you have the latest BIOS..looks like it's 0039, can be found here:

      http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sear...ard+DZ77GA-70K

Bad news is, according to the mobo spec sheet it only supports up through 1600 sticks, so while technically the CPU and even the Z77 chipset can handle the higher end DRAM (I'm running 2133/CL9 32GB on a Z77 with a 3570K) the mobo is an Intel and they don't really make or the extra in to their mobos to OC them or really run faster DRAM....most people have problems w/ Intel mobos and running 1866 and up.What you could do is try at say 1600, then try going up to 1866, then 2133 etc. And yes and OC will be required, most mobos advertise with the freq of DRAM they can run and normally you'll see like:

1333, 1600, 1866 (OC), 2133 (OC), 2400 (OC)........the OC beside the freqs indicate an OC (OverClock) of the CPU is required, so the rest of the system is running fast enough for the DRAM. Think if at all possible, I'd go w/ a different mobo, or if going to stick w/ the Intel, maybe even look to exhange the DRAM for a more staid 1600 or so, just being honest, and sorry to say, but think you might be able to get to 2000 maybe 2133, but it will take a lot of time and tweaking.

I have the latest bios, so i need this timing, normally that memory runs in SPD 1600, but it's only 1333, if you can give these information filled in for running standard 1600 mhz i am happy.
Thx for the respons and i did buy the board for the many sata ports and the old pci slots

Don't have that set of DRAM, will leave a note for GSkill Tech to take a look Monday, when he gets a chance, also will see if maybe I can throw a set of 8GB in my Z77 to get something close later tonight

Might try them at 7-8-7-22 or 8-8-8-24 (possibly 7-7-7-21 and leave the rest at auto, should be in the shop by about 7 this evening and will throw an 8GB set in the Z

Ok, i will see it later today for the correct timings listing and voltage.
Intel is good in CPU but not in mainboard :P

That last timings didn't work, i have now working DDR3 1600 on timings below, some automatic manual mix :
What program is the best for to do a memory stabiltiy test GSKILL TECH?

                      Memory Multiplier - 12
                      Memory Voltage - 1.550V
System Agent Voltage Override - 0.925V

Prime95, it will stress your CPU and memory to 100%! CPU can become very hot.

Check overclocking section of this forum, we have many software tools.

                        http://www.gskill.us/forum/showthread.php?t=10511

Your tRC is very low, it should be at least 40.

                        Thank you

Gskill, the timings i run now (listed below), it's allowed to run like this?
Run Prime95 Torture Test "Blend" for 1h30min, all passed, it seems stable, during this week i will do a longer run.

Done a test with Sisoftware Sandra Lite 2012.06.18.47:
                              Aggregate Memory: 19.66 GB/s
                              Integer Memory: 19.66 GB/s
                              Float Memory: 19.67 GB/s

So this is the "final" memory setup.
                              Memory Multiplier - 12 (DDR3 1600 MHZ)
                              Memory Voltage - 1.550V
System Agent Voltage Override - 0.925V

                              tCL - 7
                              tRCD - 7
                              tRP - 9
                              tRASmin - 24
                              tRFC - 174
                              tRRD - 4
                              tWR - 12
                              tWTR - 5
                              tRTP - 5
                              tRC - 40
                              tFAW - 20
                              Command Rate - 2T
