    It's not on the list of qualified motherboards (asrock xtreme 6). I like the price on that motherboard, and some people on newegg seem to be using it with this memory without problems.

    Assuming you mean the X79 Extreme 6 (also have a P67, Z77, X58, etc) Yes should work fine, the set was put together for the X79, know it mentions Z77 (but for that could do 2 mobos)

        Actually, can you help me out with another thing

        if i opt to save $200 bucks and get a 4x8 kit, which one should i get in order to upgrade later?

        Is this one pretty much the same?

          That's the same model sticks in a 32 GB set and with 1600 sticks there would be a good chance you might be able to add another set later, thought there's no guarantee. Any time you mix sets of DRAM, even of the same exact model, it can be problematic. Higher freq and higher density can add to the problems
