  • Rampage IV Extreme Wont Run 2133Mhz Memory

Hi there just wondering if anybody can tell me why my R4E wont run my [ RipjawsZ ] F3-17000CL9Q2-32GBZH (4Gx8) memory. I have tried everything possible increasing vtt, vccsa and even dram voltage above 1.65v and of course using the xmp profile. I can run it at 1866mhz no problem but for some reason it just wont do 2133mhz, I'm using the latest bios 1305. I don't know if it makes any difference but I don't have the floppy connector connected on the motherboard for additional power to the dimms. Thanks

Can you post your BIOS settings, don't think these mobos are setting up correctly through XMP,

I'm not exactly how to take a picture of the bios but I can tell you exactly what settings xmp makes.

      Frequency 2133
      Timings 9-11-10-28-2
      1.65v AB
      1.65v CD

And I have followed the xmp settings from this site for my motherboard by manually setting vccsa to 1.250v and rampage tweak to mode 1.

How about CPU VTT prob want about 1.23 , as for pics you can get many of the setting to show in th tweaker/OC software that came with the mobo, once on the screen use the snipping tool in windows to outline the area you want a screenshot of and save it a .jpg

I have tried cpu vtt and vccsa from 1.2v all the way to 1.5v and have even tried dram voltage as high as 1.8v.

Will drop GSkill Tech a note to try and take a look tomorrow, we've got another one of these trying to run 64GB and I'm at a loss, don't know of anybody that has this mobo that I can get my hands on one, based on the other, I don't think the BIOS is reading XMP right and loading the correct advanced timings, so if you could post your advanced timings it might help me and if not will prob help GSkill Tech

please follow the set up on our web-site:
              http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=439

check the QVL because this motherboard must be manually adjust some setting.

I have already tried that if you had read my previous messages.

Post pictures of BIOS with XMP enabled and all the proper settings. There is no reason this combo will not work. Test lesser modules at a time to see if a module may be defective causing problems.

                    Thank you

                      Hi all!

I have the same problem like Spencer1990.

But i use another G.Skill memory:
                      [ RipjawsZ ] F3-17000CL11Q-16GBZL (4Gx4)
                      http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=440

With 2133MHz I just get errors in applications and after a few minutes errors in memtest and Prime.
Of course, I use the recommended settings from G.Skill: https://docs.google.com/document/pub...0OU5VPe6CUoFso

I have the ASUS Rampage Formula IV, the problem is with all BIOS versions!

With 1866MHz 10-10-10-28 @ 1.50v everything works fine... I honestly do not know where the problem is
For me it looks as if the memory is not 100% compatible with the R4F, can it be possible?

Sorry for my english, I'm not from here

So, no joy w/ the 1305 BIOS, they are prob still working on the BIOS for the higher freq DRAM (like yours) and even more so on using 8GB sticks, if you can post your BIOS settings of the sticks with XMP enabled, particularly the voltage, CPU, and DRAM settings (both the base timings and advanced timings we can prob get you running stable at 2133

The memory is definitely compatible. Did you enable XMP in EFI? It should work flawlessly. If you have a problem, test one module at a time to see if one may be bad causing problems.

                          Thank you

Hi all, please excuse my late reply

                            My memory: [ RipjawsZ ] F3-17000CL11Q-16GBZL (4Gx4) http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=440
My motherboard: ASUS Rampage IV Formula X79 http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Int...BATTLEFIELD_3/
and my CPU: Intel? Core™ i7-3930K Processor http://ark.intel.com/products/63697

And a brief summary: with 2133MHz memtest shows many errors after a few minutes. But when i go down to 1866Mhz, then everything is stable, even with 1,50v!

If the memory is faulty or is the cause another problem?

                            Please help me

With XMP enabled, did you try raising VCCSA? Try 1.10V and see how it works.
