Today i called up AMD UK and asked them if my AMD FX 6-core FX6100 Black Edition would support DDR3 2133 ,they said yes it would !

However they did some RAM checks and said there was a compat issue between the Asus motherboard and the RAM ,and so it could be the RAM thats the issue .

I then contacted the seller about my RAM i purchased from him ,the seller replied he would kindly exchange it but in the meantime could i give him the model of my motherbard as some DDR3 2133 might need overclocking .

          To be continued .....

Didn't you say the sticks were on the Asus QVL? Might call AMD back and ask them to put that in writing, I got into it with AMD a few months back when they were saying the FX CPUs run at 'Native' 1866, and they changed the advertising to reflect that they can run up to 1866 with 1 DIMM per channel

see Note 1 at bottom here:

Well the person at AMD did email me and i did ask them for it in writing .
Oh and i just got my answers i was looking for too ....

Here is what Asus said on the Memory specs on my Asus Motherboard ....Remember i was wondering why my memory wasnt going at DDR3 2133 and going by default to DDR3 1600 ?? ,..well here is why .

              4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 2133(O.C.)/1866/1800/1600/1333/1066 MHz ECC, Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory.....

So if im running 2133(OC) i would have to overclock to order to get that speed in order to achive it !!!
Also the seller of my Memory told me the same too would have to OC .
              Phew !! finally .....

                Update.....
I have decided to return the G.Skills RipSaw DDR3 2133 with the seller and exchange them for G.Skill Ripsaw DDR3 1866 ....Since i have to overclock the memory in order to get the 2133 speed

Had an email too from AMD and heres what they said .....

I understand that you are looking for memory support for FX-6100 CPU with Asus Motherboard.

Memory support would be dependent on the Motherboard.

If the motherboard supports it,CPU will support it as well.

                4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 2133(O.C.)/1866/1800/1600/1333/1066 MHz ECC, Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
                Dual Channel Memory Architecture
                * Refer to www.asus.com or user manual for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists).

It means that your motherboard supports DDR3-1866 MHz

                DDR3 2133 (O.C)(OverClock memory)

It has be the one from the Memory QVL(Qualified Vendor Lists).

Yah figures now after i sussed it !!! But hey ho never mind !!
For now ive taken out the G.Skill Ripsaws ready to be posted and using Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR3 1600 till everything is sorted .

                    Hi Tradesman
I just got this from email from G Skill Support as to O.C on my ram ..

                    Dear Customer,

Set your DRAM Frequency to 1333

Try raising your CPU Host Frequency from 200 to 266. That should overclock you to 2128.

Manually adjust your DRAM voltage to 1.65V

                    Set your timings to 11 11 11 30

                    Command Rate 2T

                    CPU-NB Voltage +.1

                    -G Skill Support

Isnt that over clocking my CPU and not my RAM or both ???

                      Another update ....

After some thought about OC to get my G.Skill DDR3 2133 Ripsaws to work on my Asus Mobo ..
I had another look in the bios to see if i missed anything ...Well low and behold i did .

In the Asus M5A97 PRO Bios there is a special feature for unlocking bigger memory like mine ..
Its called D.O.C.P which is an overclocker ?

This can be found in the in the A.I Tweaker.....At the time it was set at Auto but it mentioned if the D.O.C.P was set then it would open up other unlockings ....

I saw the unlocked ddr3 2133 set and game over and running sweet as ,now using the ripsaws at ddr3 2133 on my AMD FX ...i will try and screenshots of the voltages shortly if it lets me .

That's good to hear, I know they were working with the DOCP, but last I had heard nothing but 1866, what kind of settings did it load for DRAM and voltages, can get CPU-Z and look at Main and Memory tabs

                            Thanks
Yes so anyone in the future with the Asus M5A97 series using DDR3 2133 ..tell them to enable D.O.C.P in the bios .
