Hi, I have GA-P55A-UD3 motherboard + i5 760 cpu running with 4 sticks of 2GB Ripjaws F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL.
To make the system stable with these four sticks, I activated XMP and changed the dram voltage to 1.6v in bios.
Now I want to make a upgrade to 16GB and I want to use some sticks with lower voltage, to make cpu cooler.
I looked in newegg and found these two options:
Sniper F3-12800CL9Q-16GBSR1 (4GB x 4)
http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=415
Ripjaws x F3-12800CL9Q-16GBXM (4GB x 4)
http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=417
Both have the same price and the same specification (DDR 3 1600, 1.35v, CAS 9-9-9-24-2N), except that GA-p55A-UD3 is listed only in Sniper ?s compatibility list.
But I prefer the Ripjaws design.
So, these are the questions:
Is the Ripjaws x F3-12800CL9Q-16GBXM compatible with GA-p55a-Ud3?
What Dram Voltage will I have to set to get a solid system with these new 4 sticks, using XMP?
Is this configuration valid for Sniper too?
Thanks!
Helga
