  • 2x8 GB or 4x8 GB modules for GA-Q67M-D2H-B3

    Hello,

I'm looking for 8GB modules for a Q67 based motherboard like the Gigabyte GA-Q67M-D2H-B3,

I was thinking of that one here :
    [ ARES ] F3-1333C9D-16GAO
    http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=480

    or
    [ ARES ] F3-1333C9Q-32GAO
    http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=481

    or
    [ RipjawsX ] F3-10666CL9S-8GBXL(8Gx1) / F3-10666CL9D-16GBXL(8Gx2)
    http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=424

    or
    [ RipjawsX ] F3-10666CL9Q-32GBXL (8Gx4)
    http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=425

I'm having a hard time in this quest as no Q67 Motherboards seems mentionned in compatibility list, this specific chipset allows real PCI (yes the old PCI 33Mhz) support as opposed to other chipset which either have no PCI slots at all or uses a PCI to PCI express bridge that do cause some serious problem when using PCI pro audio cards.

Any help or infos are welcome,
    thanx in advance.

Not sure what CPU you plan to run but at 1333 in 2x8GB Gskill has these

    or in 4x8GB these:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...4%20x%208GB%29

with either you'll want to be sure you have the latest BIOS

      Thanx for your answer,

the CPU would be Sandybridge I7 2600 or 2600k, but the fastest memory speed for the Motherboard is 1333,

so you confirm that all those memory modules should work fine with the Q67 chipset ?,

because that is what I was worried about as it is not mentionned on gskill website

I plan on choosing a specific cpu cooler too (probably Scythe mugen 2 or 3) so I guess it's better to go for the "ares"

Believe the 2600 should have no problem with the 1333 sticks, I know GSkill test mobos as they become available to them, but may not have one of these, GSkill Tech will be in Mon can see what he says. Will drop him a line to take a look, may have more insight on this particular mobo

Either of the Ares should work fine.

              Thank you
