  • New to setting up ram speed

Just build a new PC and this is my first time having to set the ram speed to 1866. I've been reading that the Gskill sniper gets automatically set to 1600 and that you have to manually set it to 1866 through the bios. Could someone watch me through the timing settings?

    Specs:

    Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+
    CPU: FX 8120
    Ram: GSKILL F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR

    Thanks!

First thing is to make sure you have the latest BIOS and see if the BIOS will pick up 1866 when you set the DRAM freq (not all do)

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

May need an increase to the DRAM and/or CPU/NB voltage
