  • 16GB kit for Asus Sabertooth P67

    Hi,

I'm looking for memory for a new PC I will buy with a Core i7 2700K and a Asus Sabertooth P67. I want to have 16GB of memory. Which kit is the best for this configuration?

    I'm thinking of the GSKILL-F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH (Quad Channel DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaws Z, 4 x 4 Go, PC3-17000, CAS 9) but it's for X79, it will be compatible with the sabertooth p67? I don't want any problems of compatibly !

    thx for your help

The Z set you mention will work fine, it's designed for XMP 1.3 and your rig will be XMP 1.2 so will want to select profile #2 under XMP for this set, it's an XMP 1.2 compatible profile.

At 2133 16GB for $20 more and a performance gain you might like, take a look at the Snipers F3-17000CL9Q-16GBSR or the this Z set, F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH, both of which run at CL9 opposed to the selected CL11 set. The CL9 sets would perform more like a native 2400+ set

thx for your reply, but I think there is a little error
I'm asking about the F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH and you recommend me to take the better : F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH
      it's the same name ...

what the difference between GSKILL Z F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH and Snipers F3-17000CL9Q-16GBSR?

My fault, to many windows open, had (have) a window open on the F3-17000CL11Q-16GBZL, for something else......

As to the differences between the Z and the Snipers, the Z series is actually designed for X79 and quad channel (backward compatible to XMP 1.2 and dual channel (your rig), while the Snipers are native 1.2 and designed for dual channel (though will work in quad fine), they use different memory chips, different SPD programming and may or may not use different PCBs, not sure on those
