    Hello all,

System had 8Gb's mem and can max to 16Gb's. Have bought above mentioned but bios only shows 8Gb's. They are installed as manual said and moved them to other slots, upgraded bios to latest and even re-installed previous 8gb's.

What do I do to get 16Gb's to show in BIOS and Windows??

What brand/model are the other sticks? May not like each other due to disparate timings/voltages, etc

      4 sticks of Kingston khx1600c9ad3k2/4g (8Gb's total).

Must point out, they are not mixed with gskill. In other words, 2 gskills@16gb's total and 4 kingston@8gb's total. Hope this helps.

Tman is down sick and asked me to check in, looks like you have F3-17000CL9D-8GBSR, this is an 8GB set, the key being the 'D-8GB', if it were a 16GB set it would indicate that by showing 'Q-16GB' for Q equal quad DIMMS as opposed to your 'D' which is DUAL 8GB or 2x4GB set. So with 1 set you only have 8GB not 16GB

            Should be f3-12800cl9d-8gbsr

So what was bought is only a 2x4gb's=8gb's kit and will have to buy another gskill kit of said to get 16gb's?? So all four slots will have a stick then.

Correct, you have an 8GB set of Snipers at 1600 (12800) for 16GB would need another set to add to it or return your current set and get a full 16GB, 4x4GB set

Thank you very much for clarification on this. The person who sold me kit assured me it was 16gb's kit, ah well...... will get another set of gskill tomorrow.

As Flearider and I mentioned for 16GB may want to go with a single 4x4GB set, also keep in mind with the 955 may have problems getting them set up and stable at 1600. A 1333 set might be better
