  • Please Help with F3-14900CL9Q-16GBXL

    Motherboard: ASUS M5A99X EVO _ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131754

    Memory: F3-14900CL9Q-16GBXL _ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231456

    Processor: AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 3.3GHz _ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103962

This is my first build and i can not get the memory up to speed. It is running at 1333 instead of 1866. I have read that i have already voided my warranty on the processor by using this memory. Oh well. Everything is running great except for the memory not running at 1866. I have read that i need to set the memory manually, but i do not know how. Could somebody please help and be as clear as possible. I just want to get my moneys worth from this memory but i do not want to screw things up either. I have been running this build for 2 months now and the cpu and memory temp. as not went above 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, can i use the AI Suite II that is with the motherboard to change the settings or should i do it in the bios. If someone can help, can you please give me all the settings i need for the memory and any settings i need to change on the cpu or anything else. Thanks in advance for any help. Brian Setzer

No, it does not unless you tell them. They only say that because if anything happens, they just want to say.. SORRY, YOUR FAULT!

All performance users know DDR3-1866 is no problem.

First, change DRAM Frequency to DDR3-1866.

    DRAM Timings tCL 9 - tRCD 10 - tRP 9 - tRAS 28

    DRAM Voltage 1.50V

    CPU-NB Voltage +0.1V

Save, exit, and see how that works.

    Thank you

Same motherboard, but two of this: http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=385
      and a FX 8120

      4x 4gb 14900 1866mhz sniper 9-10-9-28

Will it work ok at 1866, or only one per channel?

      My Rig:

      - FX-8350
      - Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3

Should be able to get them to run, but might also have to drop to 1600, AMD says (now) that the FX CPUs will support 'UP TO 1866' with 1 stick per channel, many can get the 8150 to run four sticks and again many have with the 8120, some of it just depends on the skill of the user, will forwarn you, make sure you have the latest BIOS. Any problems give us a shout

I got the memory to run at 1866 and it is running smoothly. I tried to bump it up to 2133 but my PC would keep freaking out till i put it back to 1866 which is what it is supposed to run at anyway.

To go to 2133 will have to loosen timings and increase voltages.....and still might not run
