No POST F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL with ASUS M4A785TD-M board

Hello,

I purchased this 8gb 1600mhz RAM to replace my older 4gb g.skill 1333mhz RAM. However, when I install it and turn the PC on I can't get it to POST, nothing comes on the screen at all while the machine itself is turned on.

I have tried 1 stick at a time and neither stick will seem to do the trick. When I replace the older RAM it does turn on so I'm sure it's not a slot issue, and since neither stick will work I'm doubting it's a lemon issue.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

I googled this a bit but couldn't find a fix.

Also, the processor I'm running is an AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.1

Have you tried resetting the CMOS before install? Do you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard?

Yes I reset the CMOS just now and my BIOS is updated.
