  • 7-8-7-24 vs 9-9-9-24 1600MHz

    Greetings G-Skill!

I currently have the 2x2GB 7-8-7-24 1600MHz Ram, but I was looking to up to 2x4GB 9-9-9-24 1600MHz RAM seeing the deal they have on NEWEGG today....

Would I notice a performance drop in this "upgrade"?

Possibly a hair down here and there, but the addition of an extra 4 GB will negate it based on what you do

Thanks for the quick (and helpful) response =) Always quick to the draw Tradesman!

Any word as to common/stable overclocks to this RAM set? Didn't see anything on the forum.

I've run some at a little over 1800 with CL9-10-9-28, then again I've had a few that would run 1800 but had to go to a tight CL10
