F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL on P45 Mainboard

CPU: Core 2 Quad Q9550
GSkill Memory: F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL

I'm having trouble getting the settings right in BIOS to boot with this ram. With prior defaults, and with various custom settings, I get flood of beep codes ending in a failsafe bios. (with a message about overclocking failing) Then on the next power cycle back to beep codes, and then back to a failsafe bios with warning.

I'm just not sure what I need to plug in for the various timings, ratios, speeds.

First check that you have the latest BIOS...then base timings for the memory are 9-9-9-24, CR at 2T, DRAM voltage at 1.5, for 1600 will also need FSB to 400, which OC the CPU (can lower the CPU multiplier if that's a higher OC than you want, though it's safe for your CPU at stock, if you have an aftermarket CPU cooler. Otherwise can run them at 1333, 8-8-8-24, 2T, 1.5 with a 1333 FSB
