  • F3-17000cl11d-8gbxl + asus m5a97 evo

Hello, this is my first build in over 6 years or so. I already got the motherboard, the processor it's going to be an AMD Phenom II X6 1100T BE and I'm looking for memory now. I found F3-17000CL11D-8GBXL for dual channel setup available in a shop near where I live.

I need to know if the mobo will support these sticks and if they will run at 2133MHz. Since RAM Configurator only let me choose up to ASUS M4A** motherboards I'm a bit lost.

Other question I need to do is if I get one more pair of the same RipjawsX, the 4 will run in single channel or will they work as 2 pair of dual channel. I do multi tasking (3Ds Max, AutoCAD, Photoshop and Rhino) and I heard lots of memory will come in handy.

    Motherboard specifications:http://ph.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_...specifications

    "4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 2133(O.C.)/1866/1800/1600/1333/1066 Hz ECC, Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory Dual Channel Memory Architecture"

I know it says 2133 but that "(O.C.)" makes me doubt.

I will really appreciate any help.

The memory can work, but DDR3-2133 depends on your overclocking skills.

We can not guarantee two kits to work together, but many have had success.

If you install each kit int he same color slots, they should be two dual channel.

Lastly, 2133 can be difficult with full slots, so lower frequency and timings would be best.

    Thank you

      Thanks for the fast replay.

May I ask again then...if I get this F3-12800CL9Q-16GBXM http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=417 Do you think it will work as 2 pair of dual channel at 1600MHz better than 2 x F3-12800CL9D-8GBXM http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=416?

In any case is there a 4x4GB kit you can tell me that will work for sure as 2x dual channel on my motherboard?

I'd go with the 16GB set to ensure compatibility and your 1100 should be able to carry the 1600 freq (might need slight voltage adjustments, or could drop them to 1333 at 8-8-8-24 which would be about equal to 1600 native

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Let's suppose I stick to this kit F3-17000CL11D-8GBXL because 16GB kit here in Argentina are hard to get and even harder for a fair price. (F3-17000CL11D-8GBXL is $140) Will I be able to make them run at 1333MHz/1600MHz/1866MHz on lower latency?

Let me show you the available kits on my local market and help me choose the best 8GB set for my M5A97 EVO please.

Yes, any of these kits will be capable of lower frequency and timings. That kit is also very flexible, for example I achieved DDR3-2133 9-11-10-28 1.65V without a problem.

              Thank you
