  • F3-12800CL9T-12GBRL / P6X58D-E -random freezes

    Motherboard: P6X58D-E
    RAM: Fe-12800CL9T-12GBRL
    CPU: I7-960

    Hello,
    I use 2 X 4 GB RAMs in dual channel Mode (Slot: Dimm_A1, Dimm_B1).
The problem is that i get random freezes in hardware havy applications like games so i have to reboot my PC

I already tested both RAMs one at a time in Slot dimm_A1 and no freezes occured.
With Memtest i also get no errors and my Hardware isnt overheating.

How can i solve this Problem?

    current BIOS settings:
    XMP Modus activated (1600)
    BCLK: 133
    tCL:9
    tRCD:9
    tRP:9
    tRAS:24
    tRRD:6
    tRFC:auto
    tWR:12
    tRTP:7
    tFAW:20
    Timing: 1N
    DRAM Voltage: 1.50
    the rest on Auto

in my experiences this is due to unstable ram timings, usually due to a bad overclock. Since you arent overclocking your RAM, its tough to say what exactly might be the problem.

Im no RAM expert by far, and there are others on here that will probably be able to give you better advice, but with my experience the RAM i purchased was not on the list of compatible sticks (not to mention the board itself had stability issues) and it led to all sorts of headaches, including random freezing while running intensive applications. I eventually got over my problem by underclocking the RAM and loosening the timings a bit under its specs. It was the crappy way of doing it, but the only way I could make it work.

Should be fine under XMP - do you have the latest BIOS?

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Have you tried manual settings? Make sure to test each one at DDR3-1600, not AUTO settings.

          Thank you

i enabled the XMP Profile with speed 1600

            this configurations is set manually:
            BCLK: 133
            tCL:9
            tRCD:9
            tRP:9
            tRAS:24
            tRRD:6
            tRFC:auto
            tWR:12
            tRTP:7
            tFAW:20
            Timing: 1N
            DRAM Voltage: 1.50

dont know which and how to set the other manually (which value?)

              Timing should be 2N
