  • F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM timings question /help pls :)

    Here is my system specs:

    CPU: I5-2500k
    Mobo: MSI P67A-GD53
    RAM: G.Skill RipJawsX 2x4GB (F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM)

+ tell me if the rest is relevant and i will post.

The memory that i bought (F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM) states that it runs on 8-8-8-24, however my BIOS recognizes is as 11-11-11-28

At the moment I have no desire overclock, but I wonder why my memory doesnt run on the timing specified by the manufacturer. Please advice how to tackle this issue.

Check that you have the latest BIOS, then boot, go into BIOS and enable XMP and select the profile for 1600

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Since the I5-2500k is specified at 1333, 1600 will be overclocking. In my case I want to modify my optimal timings as specified by the g.skill manufacturer. please advise.

*i probably just wrote something extremely stupid

Try 7-8-7-24, 7-7-7-24, 7-7-7-21. Use the last one that is stable.

You really don't need to worry about DDR3-1600. Like TMan stated, enable XMP and it should be ready to go. Temps, stability, reliability, lifespan, etc. will all be fine.

            Thank you
