  • memory type request

    I am looking for recommendation,maybe education for the most suitable memory for a new set up:
    Mobo = ASUS P8Z68-V Pro
    CPU = Intel Core I5 2500K
    CPU Cooler CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus ( big tower)

    I am told 8 gb mem ia all one needs so my initial of the cuff desire for 16 gigs
    has come down to 8 gigs

    I cant use big heat spreaders as they interfere c the CPU Cooler

    I want to stay c 1.5V max

    found for G Skill:
    A G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL
    b:G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL

    assuming these are the same type memory and suitable for the CPU
    what are the differences?

    2: is that your recommended mem for the CPU?
    thnx

    The difference between the two sets is that the X model is designed for the newer generation Intel CPUs and around the P67, Z68, H67 chipsets and is the preferred Recommendation for your mobo/CPU combo. On a personal note, I have been extremely pleased with Sniper series (been using the 1.5 series sticks) in combo with the above mentioned chipsets and many others as well

    Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:
