  • F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR - Wrong spd info/xmp profile?

    Hey,

So got this 8Gb 1866MHz sniper kit few days ago and according sticker at hs of the ram and g.skill website stock settings for this ram should be 1866MHz 9-10-9-28 2N 1.5v but now i just looked to spd with cpu-z and that says xmp profile has settings of 1866MHz 9-11-9-29 1N 1.5v. So my question is that is there some wrong spd info on these sticks or is it just meant to be like that? Its not really big thing as i setted those "specked" settings manually and seems to work fine but woul be still nice to know why its like that.

Could be a BIOS issue, not sure what mobo or BIOS version you are running, but most mobo makers are constantly updating the BIOSs recently due to the newer chipsets and the new models of DRAM that have come out

Mobo is P8P67 Pro with latest bios but i highly doubt is mobo issues as i tried other of the sticks in other pc too which has gigabyte P55 board and it had the same xmp / spd info.

This will be one for GSkill, I just checked mine (I have two sets of the sticks in a P67) and it shows the the same, will take a look at it later and see what XMP loads it at (mine are set up manually) once I get a couple other things finished

Enable XMP in BIOS and see what the profile comes up as in BIOS.

Manually configure settings and it should be stable.

Well tried xmp and it does load those 9-11-9-29 1N 1.5v setting. Its not big deal as its working fine when you manually set spec settings, just bit odd that both sticker of the ram and g.skill website has different settings for this kit than what xmp profile has.

Yea, sounds like when the person programmed the SPD, they stayed out too late the night before.

As long as it works to spec, it will be fine. Under lifetime warranty, you can always send them in for RMA replacements. Replacements should have the correct profiles.
