  • 4gb 2000 or 8gb 1600?, AMD memory compatibility etc. help :)

Okay im building a new system cause my old one literally fried itself for no reason

    i have chosen the following.

    CPU: phenom x6 t1100
    MB: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3

RAM: well, initially i was considering getting htis kit of ram.
    http://www.bttech.com.au/gskill-ripj...-p-240442.html

and i am wondering how this will go with this motherboard?
i have read the sticky regarding the issue with 1600 ram.
if i chose this ram what settings should i run, Oc the whole lot? or lowwer the speed of the ram?
i am FINE with OCing my CPU and have a small amoutn of experience OCing intel.

my other question is regarding if i should get either 8gb or 4gb of ram?

i intend to do some gaming, and small amount of multitasking, use of photoshop and just normal PC usage.
will i be better off with 4Gb of
    http://www.bttech.com.au/gskill-trid...-p-111337.html

than the 8gb of the above mentioned ram, and also what about 4gb of this http://www.bttech.com.au/gskill-ripj...-p-218977.html

any advice or help would be muchly appreciated, along with any experience with this board and G.skill ram?
    thanks guys!

Any of the sets will work, if working with Photoshop much would suggest 8GB, preferably as a set i.e. 2x4GB. That way you leave slots open for expansion, 1600 would be a good speed, the 2000 set may be a bit hard to get running without adding a fair amount of voltage and a high OC.
