  • 4GB @ 1333 CL 7 with 8GB @ 1600 CL 9

    Model of the motherboard:
    GIGABYTE GA-890GPA-UD3H AM3 AMD 890GX

    Model of the memory:
    F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH
    &
    F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL

    Model of the CPU:
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz

I was just wondering if it would be possible to use these two different sets of RAM together in one system? One is rated for CL 7 @ 1333 and the other for CL 9 @ 1600 on an AMD motherboard. If yes, what voltage and settings should I use?

    Thanks

Can't hurt to try, I'd prob start at 1600, 9-9-9-24, CR at 2N and DRAM voltage at 1.55, with the 1600 sticks as primary DIMM slots and the 1333 in the secondary. Will prob have to raise CPU/NB to run stable, if so start with where it's at and gradually raise it in say, increments of .02

Even with the 2gb sticks in the primary DIMMs (didn't wanna remove cpu cooler) I managed to get the two sets working together. I boosted DRAM voltages to 1.56 and my CPU/NB up by 0.02 like Tradesman said (but only had to do it once!) to get it running stable.

      Dual Channel 12GB @ 1600Mhz 8-8-8-24 1.56 1T
