  • One more M4A79XTD EVO - DDR3 G.Skill F3-12800CL9-2GBNQ blue screen and boot problem

Hello there, excuse my english, I'm french

I know I'm not the only one having this problem but I tried almost everything I read in other threads but nothing seems to work.

    This is my configuration :

ASUSTeK Computer INC. M4A79XTD EVO Rev X.0X
    Processor
    AMD Phenom II X4 945 Deneb Socket AM3 (938) (@45 nm) 3000 Mhz ( L1I: 4 x 64 Ko, L1D: 4 x 64 Ko, L2: 4 x 512 Ko, L3: 6144 Ko )

    Memory
    2048 Mo, Type: DDR3, @666.6MHz, 9.0-9-9-24-1T
    DDR3 G.Skill F3-12800CL9-2GBNQ 2048 Mo PC3-10700 (667 Mhz)
    Graphic card :
    Radeon HD 5770 (RV840,,1024 Mo)
As some other members I'm getting blue screen after few minutes and sometimes I need 5 attemps to boot the computer.
I tried the fix I read in the sticky :

For DDR3-1600 CL9 kits, you can also attempt DDR3-1333 CL8 (8-8-8-24) 1.50V and this would be just as fast without needing to overclock the system. These are also good settings if you can not get DDR3-1600 to work, and you need fail-proof settings (without overclocking) to test the memory and make sure they are working properly.
Lost all my day trying to fix this problem, nothing worked
So I'm trying to find some help there or I'll just buy some other memory sticks I guess

To run 1333 you prob want 8-8-8-24, 1.5, 2T instead of the 9-9-9-24 1T you show...may also have to raise your CPU and CPU/NB just a tad, maybe .05 to each. Also do you have the latest BIOS...and if still problems might want to run Memtest on each stick to make sure neither is a bad stick

Hi, thanks for the quick answer.
Actually it looks like I found a way to fix it, worked all the night without any freeze :
I flashed the bios and updated it, not with the lastest BIOS but with this update :
      M4A79XTD EVO BIOS 0604
Improve the system stability and performance when using certain memory.
Then, in the BIOS, I did load default settings and changed from 1600 to 1333 and that's all.

      Seems to be working

Sounds good, though if you do have further problems, might look to flash the latest BIOS, generally the notes they show only indicate the biggest or major changes in the update, almost all BIOS updates will also have memory compatibility updates
