  • Difference between 8GB kits

    Hello,

    There's quite a few kits available for DD3. I'm looking for a 8GB/1600 kit.
I can't figure out the differences between the F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL and the F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL kits.
As far as I can see they have the same timings, same voltage and same frequence specs.

Can anyone help me understand the differences between these two kits? Overclocking abaility maybe?

    Thanks.

The RLs were introduced first and designed as a broadrange set for AMD and Intel chipsets, the AMD 790/890 and Intel P55, X58, (and at the time the upcoming P67 and variants H67/Z68).

The X series were designed specifically w/ the latest P67 and variants in mind, (though they also seem to work equally well across the board w/ all AMD and Intel

    .....or so is my understanding..........

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

Tman is on the money. But some people have issues with RipJaws on P67, so if you have the newer Intel chipsets, RipJaws X is preferred.
