  • F3-12800cl8d-8gbxm at lower setting

    Hello all,

I've searched the threads regarding this model of memory but have not found an answer to my question, which is as follows:

    Can I properly run the G.Skill F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM at 1333 CL7 ?

I've been told that with AMD processors, the lower CAS ratings are better than higher memory speeds (i.e. DDR3-1333 at CL7 will give me better performance than DDR3-1600 at CL8). Anyone, please correct me if this is wrong.

    Thanks!

    Model of the memory: F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM

          Update

So far, things are TERRIFIC with the new G.Skill memory!!!

One question, however, with the F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM at 1333 CL7:

With this setup, CPU-Z reports the following:
          DRAM Frequency: 668.9 MHz
          FSBRAM 3:10
          CL 7.0
          tRCD 7
          tRP 7
          tRAS 21
          tRC 31
          CR 1T

Are these values correct, particularly the tRC and CR? I just want to make sure that I have the proper, optimal settings for my RAM.

          Thanks for your time,

tRC is fine, CR is very good, generally these run at 2T, anytime you can get them at 1T it's a higher performance output (basically only taking 1 clock cycle instead of 2)
