What memory do i need ?

  • When i put the kit with G.Skill stamped on the chip in the blue slots and the other kit with Micron stamped on the chip in the black slots, under normal use i have no problem. When i played a game for about half an hour or so and then went on the internet all the pages would load very slow and be in black and white with colors changing in very slowly. Reverse the kits and this problem happens just going off and on line then web site to web site.

    • Send them in to us for RMA. We can send you two kits with the same chips, that should work much better.

      • What is the usual turn around for an RMA once it has been received by G.Skill ?

        • From what I've seen, the new generally goes out the within 1-2 days of them getting the package.

              • I received my replacement ram that was requested and was suggested by the G.Skill tech to be matching. The chips were all the same but one set had black pcb's and the other green, to me this looks like not much effort was taken to get me two sets that matched as closely as possible. I also hoped that G.Skill would just upgrade my ram to a matched set, like i have read being done for many customers that were experiencing problems. I recontacted the RMA department and they told me to send them back along with $15 and they would send me a matched set. I spent over $100 for my two sets already and G.Skill expects me to send more money, well not me. I am glad this happened before i wasted more of my money on memory for my wifes laptop.

                  • I am not sure what i will do, i am looking at two other sets of memory to replace these, i will not name the companies but they both seem to have very good reviews and have top quality tech service. I have used both of there memories in my other computers and had no problems, did not have to return any , so i am not sure how they would respond. It has been a great pleasure having you to help me with my problems on this site, i will try to stay in touch from time to time

                      • Did you notify the RMA dept. to exchange for a complete kit? This must be done or they will process your request like any other RMA. Try again and they should take care of you.

                        • Hi, yes i did and they told me to return the ram along with a $15 money order and they would upgrade me to F3-10666CL9Q-16GBRL. I am just upset that this was not done the first time and have spent enough of my own money on the previous kits, over $100 and shipping RMA.

                              • I would like to say i have been very impressed with G.Skill on the turn around time for my upgrade kits, i shipped on Thursday 2/23, delivered Monday 2/27 afternoon return shipped on Tuesday 2/28 and delivered to my house Thursday 03/01. Impressive
