    • So far so good

I installed the G Skill memory tonight (F3-10600CL9D-8GBNT) and so far mine runs a bit quicker than the stock 6GB of OEM Gateway memory. I have not experienced the issues of sluggishness, or slow page loading that Wildman95gst had. I did install mine a bit different and I am not sure if that matters or not. From what I can tell the Gateway board may be made by Intel. Intel recommends that the first 2 sticks be installed in the blue slots which is what I did. I have not run Memtest 86 yet, but everything seems very quick and the command rate is now down to 1T with just the 2 sticks installed.

      • That's great, i discovered that my problem's were not associated with the ram, i had updated my Intel HD drivers thru windows and 3D Guru, i even went back to the drivers on my Gateway disc and on their site. I guess my computer did not like any of them, lastly i went to Intel's site and installed the latest driver they had, no more problems.

        • IT'S ABOUT TIME! Just kidding, glad you got it straightened out, got a word from GSkill, still in catchup mode, and I know how that goes, had 4 computers in here last night I was working on, they're gone, and have three more tonight (and more scheduled tomorrow) + need to make an order tonight, I am basically out of DDR and DDR2 I keep for upgrading older boxes and about out of DDR3.

          • Hi Tman, can you tell me if these sticks F3-10666CL7D-8GBXH are set to default JEDEC 9-9-9-24 and have to manually set at 7-7-7-21 in the bios .

            • Prob have to set manually, not sure if your mobo has XMP where it can be enabled/disabled - if XMP available can try that

Tman can you look into this, i removed the two sticks from the black slots and get the same timing. Gateway had the 2g sticks in the black slots and 1gb sticks in the blue and CPU-Z reads the black as #1&2 and blue as 3&4

                        • Should be able to put them vice-versa, might even be able to mix the sets, can always go back to the original set up you have/had

                            • Just make sure the notch lines up with the DIMM

                              • Please let me know if this is getting away from G.Skill's policy regarding their web board post's. This problem i have is really bothering me , my wife is away and i am getting a lot of time on this computer. I installed Core Temp 1.0 thinking maybe my CPU's were clocking back due to overheating, i have run into something that really puzzles me. It record's my (core frequency) at 3092.85 (99.77x30.0), (VID) at 1.259v and (core temp) at 27C. CPU-Z has the (core frequency) at 1.596 (99.8x16.0) and after a while it changes for a second to the same frequency that Core Temp 1.0 shows, (ore voltage) 0.768 - 0.912
