  • f3-17000cl9d-8gbxld and msi p67a-gd65 b3 speed issue

i recently bought this memory to originally go with an asus p8p67 deluxe but had to return it due to a faulty pcie slot. i was able to run at full 2133 speed without issue . when i recieved my msi p67a-gd65 it had bios rev 1.8 b10 and could only boot at 1866 with this memory. with bios 1.9 b1 i'm haveing issues getting the system to boot at 1866 occasionally and am unable to get 2133 to boot at any setting. anyone successfull with this memory and board combo?

Do you have the mobo set up w/ the same OC/settings that you had on the previous mobo? If so may need to increase a voltage setting or two, could you post your BIOS settings? Also possible would be another bad mobo, or possibly got a little thermal compound seeped under the CPU

ok after more tweaking managed to get a boot at 1.688v probably a voltage issue on the motherboard
is this memory supposed to be command rate 1 or 2? windows won't boot at 1@2133 with timings listed on the box

2T, but most can support 1T.

May be a slight difference in the voltages being applied - do you have the latest BIOS on this mobo? May have gotten one a version or two behind. If latest BIOS may increase voltage a tad to DRAM or NB/CPU

i'm ruunning 1.9b1 which is the lates i can find. seems voltage settings have to be set a tad higher to reach the correct levels. upping memory voltage to 1.688 brings actual voltage to a hair under 1.65 allowing it to post. upping cpuio to 1.39 and cpusa to 1.39 allows a windows boot but system is unstable. prime and IBT both report failure. i could try raising mem voltage a tad more. but i'm hesitant in changing cpuio and cpusa any more as those are at their max already

Could try bumping DRAM voltage up a bit more, 1.65 is the rated amount, but is conservative

well tried up to 1.75 and kept io and sa at 1.41 still couldn't get the memory stable with cas 1.

ok with newest bios rev i'm finally able to boot into windows at 2133just not stable at t1 command rate. all memory settings at auto except voltage had to be set at 1.68 to get a true 1.65 reading at the voltage check point. what other settings should i try changing to get this stabilized at t1 so i'm not throwning rounding errors in prime blend tests? and how much of a difference performancewhise am i looking at going from 1922 with t1 to 2133 t1 or t2 since i'll be dropping fsb to 100mhz from 103?

I'd start with going to 2T, if you still experience instability, might tickle up the IMC voltage just a hair .02 or so
