  • p67 won't boot with memory in dual-channel mode

as the title says, i can't get my machine to boot when the dimms are in the same channel.

    memory: f3-12800cl7d-8gbxh
    mobo: asus p8p67 ws revolution
    processor intel 2600k.

when i attempt to boot, the box stays off and the *DRAM* led lights up. both individual dimms work alone in all 4 slots, and everything appears to be ok if i put the two dimms in different channels.

this is all without playing with timings or anything else in bios.

    any thoughts?

Might try in other set of slots, may want to clean contacts on the sticks and or blow out the slots w/ compressed air

Pls offer comments on support I provide, HERE, in order to help me do a better job here:

May be a bad motherboard if all else fails.

Also to clarify, same colored slots are dual channel. Dual channel is one slot from channel A and one slot from channel B, the bits bounce back and forth to communicate with each other.

Based on what you said, it seems like you think same colored slots are same channel.

      Thank you
