  • Ripjaws-X works with motherboard Gigabyte GA-H55N-USB3?

    Hi, friends!

I have a doubt : the chipset on my Gigabyte GA-H55N-USB3 motherboard is the Intel H55, and I bought 2 memory modules Gskill Ripjaws-X F3-10666CL9D-4GBXL. This module is DDR3 1333 and my motherboard supports DDR3 1333.

But in the Gskill site says that this memory module is compatible with Intel P67, with no citation to the chipset Intel H55.

My question is: this means total incompatibility between my motherboard and my Gskill memory modules? Or can I use the memory without any problem in my motherboard?

    Thanks!

Should be fine, when you install them just check that the BIOS picked up the correct timings and voltage in the BIOS. With 1333 as the default all should be good.

      Thanks a lot,Tradesman.

Just another question: the Gskill memory module package says "this memory modules are designed Specifically for Intel LGA1155 processors Sandy Bridge", but my motherboard has a Intel LGA1156 socket. Is it a problem?

No, shouldn't be, the X series is a ramped up version of the regular Ripjaws series, the higher speed versions 1600 and up might require minor tweaking. While many different versions of DRAM are centric to a specific chip set, most are interchangeable from one to another as they generally will be made to JEDEC standards

Hi , I also have a GA-h55n-usb3 mobo with and i7 870 and was seriously considering getting these Ripjwas F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM from Newegg .http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231445

From previously browsing some of the threads here it seems like they may be an excellent choice, and look forward to any feedback that you may have.

Received those Ripjwas F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM mem sticks yesterday .From what I can tell they work AOK for me .running at default clocks on the i7 870.most likely spend a bit of time with them over the weekend with a modest OC and checking the stability with IntelBurnIn etc
                      so far so good !
