what utility to use to check RAM?

Hi all, what is a free utility to use that is good to check for bad ram? I have a computer that may have a bad stick I need to check never used one of these utilities before I know some of you have. Appreciate some assistance. Thank you

One well known and free is memtest86.

Windows7 has a diagnostic tool, but Memtest86 is what we normally recommend, it can be found here:

Wow I did not know win 7 has one I have win 7 64 but I will go try memtest one you both recommended that I am sure is good. Thank you very much!!!

Win 7 memtest:

Click "Start", then type "mem" and it will prompt you for the memory diagnostics test. Some motherboards even have pre-built in memory tests within BIOS.
